Before you sign up for any sort of photography tuition it's essential to know who will be teaching you. Does your tutor have the vitally important experience or actually doing the job in the real world? And does he or she have the ability to teach? Just what are you getting for your money? Okay, so let's tell you more about your photography course or workshop with Philip Dunn.
Some comments refer to the Photography Holidays we ran for 10 years in Spain, others to the Photography Weekends we did so successfully in Scotland. All reflect the high level of photography tuition and the enjoyment experienced. I just want to say thank you again for yesterday, I really enjoyed learning from you and your wealth of knowledge and I'm excited to get more practice in.
What happens if the weather is bad? On a one-to-one day, there is usually no problem. However, we may change the location or the subjects to suit the weather - please be prepared to be flexible. If it is really very bad on the day of a group workshop then, in extreme conditions the day may be cancelled.
This was said to me by a Shrewsbury resident when I first took my camera into the town for a session of Street Photography. So, is it just the people who make Shrewsbury photography friendly? Well, it's certainly the main reason - but even that wouldn't work if there was nothing worth photographing.
The Street Photographer must capture images that are much more than just 'pictures taken in the street'. Anyone can do that. While the results of all street photography may claim to capture a moment in time, the best street photographer can go a great deal further. Ask yourself, for instance, when you are tempted to just snap away in the street - how relevant is my image.

We recently ordered some school prints from Active Photographic and unfortunately, they arrived damaged due to an over-zealous postman who forced them through the letterbox rather than knocking the door. This caused subsequent damage to the mounts. To rectify the damage, Active hand delivered replacements. We couldn't have asked for better service. Overall, a very professional and friendly company to deal with.
