Services
Founded in 1966, Heaney & Mill Studios was the industry leader in both personal & commercial photography in Leeds right up until Ken & Wendy Heaney's retirement. You'll see lots of famous faces on the walls of the restaurant who were photographed by Ken when they came to Leeds. Still owned by the family and operating on the same site at 50 Otley Road in Headingley, we reopened as a proudly independent restaurant and cocktail bar in 2017.
The Sitting Rooms provides a unique dining experience in the heart of Headingley with food from Executive Chef Tom Rennolds and Head Chef Joe Stubbs. We've taken out plenty of walls, stripped everything back and exposed all the buildings features and character to provide a perfect setting for a fine dining experience.

5 of us went for Sunday lunch, the roast dinners were excellent as we're starters & desserts. Staff were friendly & efficient and the bill was a third less than expected. I will definitely go back & wholeheartedly recommend.

They were good enough to accommodate our off the menu requests. But 2 x beans on toast, sausage and egg on toast, 2 hash browns, 2 teas and a coffee.35! Mostly good quality ingredients, but standard beans and who delivers (cheap) butter that you can only spread around the unbean covered parts of your toast? As a guesstimate it was 7+ for beans on toast which is shocking. If someone managed to invent a truly next level beans on toast, I would be happy to treat myself at that price, but unfortunately this wasn't probably best to stay on menu.

Always driven past and wanted to visit. Decided to go for my fiances birthday. Booked online. Friendly staff and sophisticated atmosphere. We were sat upstairs for our initial drink and then moved downstairs to eat. Two different menus for upstairs and downstairs. Unfortunately our service was slightly lost during the transition from up to down but it was acknowledged and we received a free cocktail each.

I enjoyed Pate for my starter and my fiance enjoyed her breaded mushrooms. We would recommend the lamb and linguine for a main course. We shared a brownie for desert. We would definitely visit again for an occasion in the future.

Excellent food and you can book a table with a choice of inside or outside, which is handy in summer when most places just make you fight over outside tables! Had a brie and bacon sandwich and truffle fries, which were sooo good! Followed by a delicious banana cheesecake with rum ice cream. Washed down with a couple spritz cocktails. A very enjoyable lunch

Lovely menu, staff and decor, however we inadvertently requested to sit upstairs, if it was on the website that this was the uber-expensive part of the restaurant we missed it! Upstairs is very expensive, with a relatively limited menu range, fine for me as the sharing main course (beef) was delicious, but no chicken which was a disappointment for one of the party, and fairly limited and ludicrously expensive vegetarian option (gnocchi), although this was reportedly also delicious. We enjoyed the meal very much but ouch the bill for upstairs was high, which is fine if you know what to expect. A great venue for an extremely special occasion.

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We love the food and the staff are all so lovely, the seasonal menus always have a new favourite dish on, I would definitely recommend!

This place lives up to the hype. Outstanding food and ambience. For brunch I had the Trio - 3 immaculately cooked poached eggs! Also the parmesan fries are a must.

Overall was a good roast dinner- lamb and veggies were great, the truffle mash was amazing. Unfortunately the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and the gravy was quite watery. Service was slow and they appeared to ignore us a few times, so service could definitely be improved.
